Each month, I.BSound Pro interviews a different local business owner, organization, or public figure to feature in our newsletter. This month we chose to interview Khiary "Too Sharp" Gray-Pitts, of Worcester, Ma. With an undefeated record (7-0, 7 KO), Khiary is quickly becoming a boxer to pay attention to. Enjoy!
What made you decide to get into boxing?
An old friend of mine convinced me to try it out. I went one day and never left.
How long have you been boxing?
I been doing this for 13 years now going on 14
How did you get the nickname "Too Sharp"?
I was in the gym training, shadow boxing, and my trainer was giving everyone nicknames. He gave me "Too Sharp" because all of my punches are short and sharp. Every punch was sharp and ever since that day it stuck with me.
Which one of your fights would you say was the hardest so far?
I really can't say but I feel my second pro fight was probably the hardest. I hit the guy with everything I had and he would not go down. He just kept coming.
What is something most people don't know about you?
I don't like heights.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Winning my first tournament when I was 11.
If you could have dinner with someone from history, who would it be and why?
I would have to say Thomas "Hitman" Hearns. He is one of my top favorite fighters.
If you had to be shipwrecked, and all your human needs were supplied - such as food and water- what are three things you would bring?
Jump rope, gloves and a punching bag.
If you won $20 Million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I would open up a bigger gym for my trainer Kendrick Ball.
If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
BBQ Chicken Pizza.
